Community Service

The people of Lee Lawyers are active in the local Gold Coast community.  We are founded on the principle that access to justice is for everyone, not just government and big business.

Ross Lee

Principal Lawyer

Dispute Resolution and Insurance Law

It is with great pleasure that I write to support the nomination of Mr Ross Lee for the Community Legal Centre Member of the Year Award.  Mr Lee is a most deserving recipient of this award. Mr Lee had a vision to provide the local legal community with a mechanism to provide free legal advice to disadvantaged members of our community. I personally saw the passion he held for the establishment of a second community legal centre on the Gold Coast.

Through the Gold Coast District Law Association, we were proud to be able to support and encourage our fellow committee member, Mr Lee, to realise his vision. Consequently, the Robina Community Legal Centre (RCLC) came into existence three years ago. Since then, Mr Lee has recruited a veritable army of local lawyers and law students to volunteer their time to provide advice to RCLC’s clients on Thursday nights. I am very proud to witness the growth and enthusiasm for the RCLC over the last three years.

Anna Morgan

President, Gold Coast District Law Association

I am pleased to supply a reference supporting the nomination of Mr Ross Lee for Community Legal Centre Member of the Year.  In my assessment, Mr Lee meets all three of the selection criteria, making outstanding contributions to the Gold Coast community, demonstrating professional excellence in legal practice and demonstrating outstanding leadership and innovation to enhance legal service delivery at the Gold Coast.

Professor Penelope Mathew

Dean of Law, Head of School, Griffith Law School

I have had the pleasure of working with Ross since the launch of the Robina CLC in 2013. As a founding partner and Gold Sponsor, the Bond Faculty of Law has supported the Robina CLC since its inception, and Bond Law students have regularly volunteered at the CLC with our encouragement and support. Under Ross Lee’s able leadership, the Robina CLC has provided our law students with valuable opportunities to acquire practical legal experience and make contributions to their local community by assisting in the provision of legal services to those in need. I have spoken to many of our students who have described their time working at the Robina CLC as transformative. For this I am indebted to Ross and his team.
